6th Grade Positive & Negative Space
The 6th graders worked on "positive and negative space". They created a variety of shapes with black construction paper then (after arranging those shapes) outlined those shapes. This created a repeating pattern created by the placement of the black shapes.
8th Grade Cityscapes
The 8th graders are working on their "cityscapes". The cityscapes use one-point perspective to look realistic. The students must create a city that includes the following:
20 buildings
street, sidewalk, billboards, streetlights, etc.

6th Grade Abstract Sculptures
The 6th graders are working on their "abstract sculptures". They began by brainstorming different emotions (mad, sad, happy, etc.) and then had to show what those emotions would look like using only line.
Then the students rolled tubes out of newspaper. Those tubes are being used to create a sculpture based on one of the emotions the students drew. The sculptures are painted after being built.
8th Grade Perspective Shapes
The 8th graders are working on "one-point perspective". One-point perspective adds depth and realistic dimensions to shapes. After the shapes are drawn, the are colored and shaded. The students have to draw the following shapes in 3D:
5 squares
5 triangles
